I get this, but I think it’s also a good stepping stone to get certain people on our side who wouldn’t otherwise have been convinced. Once they’re here, this perspective needs to be changed, but it’s, I’d argue, an introduction. —a trans guy
“Transphobia affects everyone, even cis people” is not the ally take a lot of people think it is. I understand that it is unfortunately the only way some non-allies might learn to care, but it still really sucks to hear over and over from “allies”

It’s like when people don’t care about people suffering but they’ll foam at the mouth for pets. Empathy is not… that hard 😬 I get it I guess but I cringe it’s so embarrassing

Yes! Definitely. It’s unfortunate that we have to do so much work to be accepted on even the most basic levels. I hope that it will not be like this for much longer 🫶

For some people empathy just doesn’t come naturally. I had to talk my mom through putting herself in someone else’s shoes because she just couldn’t relate
