hey related to this, could I get recommendations for queer media (preferably movies) made by/for queer folks? so not queer tourism my campus library has Pride (2014) which i’m very excited to watch

I’m also looking at: Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2020), Carol (2015), But I’m a Cheerleader (1999), Saving Face (2004), Milk (2008) …if it wasn’t clear, I’m a lesbian (and genderqueer besides), though I do want to watch films exploring experiences other than my own

Show instead of movie but owl house has a history of being restricted by Disney then upon getting their last season cancelled they went all out as a massive f you to Disney. Because of that the queer themes aren’t as prevalent as the team wanted them to be early on, but I definitely wouldn’t call it tourism queer media

Or. Okay it takes a bit for the explicitly queer aspects to kick in, but it IS about being an outcast and finding your chosen family. So
