Isn’t that like his whole motivation though? Like he doesn’t want what happened to him to happen to other mutants, and the holocaust is what inspired him to take it so seriously

Yeah so they definitely need to create another backstory but it doesn’t make sense for him to be so young in the new ones

Doesn’t really matter, they can make any excuse slow aging, time travel, etc

I think switching it to Soviet Union gulags could have worked, but that just sets him back to being like 70.

If you make him 12 during the Bosnian war he’d be in his late 40s.
