This does bring up interesting discussions on when exactly Bear goes from being a guy who made a wish in passing to when he becomes the villain.
*obsession* Hot take: Bear wasn’t the villain bc of the wish, he didn’t know it would work/thought it was dumb. He wasn’t the best guy, but not a villain yet. He was the villain when he realized smth was wrong and did nothing

Hey I’m OP of the other post, I think it’s the dinner scene bc that’s when I think he first kinda realized smth was up, right? Like before that he thought she just had an off night bc of drugs (which she apologized for, so I feel he had reason to believe that). But the dinner scene couldn’t just be explained off ya know? Maybe he didn’t know WHAT was wrong but the way he handled it from there was wrong. Also he was a crappy/selfish guy to begin with, but he wasn’t necessarily a bad guy ya know?

I think ppl believe he’s the villains mostly bc he wished for her to love him which took away her autonomy to live a normal live and solely focus all her energy onto him but if we’re on the “he didn’t know” bus then i believe he became the villain after her BEGGING for him to kill her and he turned it into a “why am i not good enough for u” and the constant weird scenes of her flipping he KNEW something wasn’t right hut he was so focused on keeping her in love with him

He definitely knew something was up yes, he knew at the very LEAST that Nikki was going through something and that her mental state wasn’t the best, but he decided to capitalize on that

Exactly. And it’s like, even if he didn’t flat out break up with her to “fix” it, he didn’t try to get her help and even slept with her. If he had genuinely tried he wouldn’t really be a villain, still wouldn’t be a hero but if he tried to actually help i feel he wouldn’t be so hated

i also find the end insane cause by then he realized it was real right and he chose to kill himself not both of them JUST himself which left her SCARED seeing all her friends dead and we will never know the outcome of her life

I wonder if there will be anything revealing her fate in the next one (apparently there will be another one)

really? i heard that’s it’s getting a cinematic universe but didn’t know if it would fully connect like they’d discuss her story or if it was gonna be like each movie was gonna be something crazy like this one wishing willow the next something completely different
