Hey I’m OP of the other post, I think it’s the dinner scene bc that’s when I think he first kinda realized smth was up, right? Like before that he thought she just had an off night bc of drugs (which she apologized for, so I feel he had reason to believe that). But the dinner scene couldn’t just be explained off ya know? Maybe he didn’t know WHAT was wrong but the way he handled it from there was wrong. Also he was a crappy/selfish guy to begin with, but he wasn’t necessarily a bad guy ya know?
I think ppl believe he’s the villains mostly bc he wished for her to love him which took away her autonomy to live a normal live and solely focus all her energy onto him but if we’re on the “he didn’t know” bus then i believe he became the villain after her BEGGING for him to kill her and he turned it into a “why am i not good enough for u” and the constant weird scenes of her flipping he KNEW something wasn’t right hut he was so focused on keeping her in love with him
Exactly. And it’s like, even if he didn’t flat out break up with her to “fix” it, he didn’t try to get her help and even slept with her. If he had genuinely tried he wouldn’t really be a villain, still wouldn’t be a hero but if he tried to actually help i feel he wouldn’t be so hated
