This app was advertised as a way to make friends anonymously through shared communities but ppl just upvote stuff and never actually message or reply, it’s just basically scrolling Reddit at this point. How come?

Tumblr culture is just different. Yik yak is more about gossip and tea and a lot more sexual, tumblr is a lot more for the bit which means theres a lot of really weird stuff and there is sexual stuff but like people horny-posting not people actually trying to hook up and less people talking about actual experiences. That being said, if you want to make friends on an anonymous site tumblr is a better place for that because it’s not double anonymous and it’s normal to have mutuals who you dm
