I pulled it up for LA and it said 28.25. Am I looking at the right chart, that feels too low

There is a short description of how the exact numbers are calculated but long story short: That 28.25 number is in 1999 dollars. In 2023 dollars that would be ~$52 which is ~108,000 a year

Also these numbers are averages not medians. And Salary tends to be a Pareto distribution, thus median is really what we want... or better yet exponential group windowing. But... I am not the one collecting the data just the one analyzing it

*Income tends to be Pareto. Sorry not salary. Salary is actually surprisingly linear
