Women have the right to feel uncomfortable about this cover… especially if they have experienced this kind of treatment from the men in their lives If this was satire, it’s poorly executed

if you feel uncomfortable then maybe it’s actually good satire. Satire makes people uncomfortable because of a truth. Men mistreat women.

If you wanted to make feminist satire, wouldn’t the goal be to make MEN/misogynists uncomfortable? A misogynistic would find this picture enticing. Women who’ve experienced this kind of degradation are the ones feeling uncomfortable

satire is a form of commentary, but smart thinking cause it seems no one can clearly agree what satire is. just replace all word “satire” in the statement with “commentary” and see if your perspective changes

There are a lot of ways to express this, yet her team chose this one. Behind every creative decision, including this picture, is a team of people (a lot of the times majority men) deciding what will create the most engagement. And this was the product.

& youre right. Still, blaming Sabrina for men’s choices, for the ones made over her, is wild. Even if she had no real agency, we are shaming her for surviving/thriving in male-shaped industries? Even when we dont know enough to assume her intent or ignorance WOMEN HAVE THE RIGHT TO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE but your discomfort is not proof she’s upholding misogyny. We can ask questions w out jumping to conclusions, esp when she’s performing to an audience built to misread her if they react too fast
