Sorry not sorry this is a huge trigger for me as an autistic person because how are you gonna risk your health for a repeatedly debunked study?

roomie and longtime friend just revealed to me 3 months into living together that they have NEVER BEEN VACCINATED for ANYTHING and don’t plan to ever GET vaccinated. They KNOW I am immunocompromised and just never told me!?!? Or ANYONE we live with!?

Im not here to change minds. I’m here to agree that getting vaccinated is non-negotiable. The anti-vaxx movement has blood on its hands. It’s not harmless like flat-earth believers. And to hear otherwise reasonable people say they’re “skeptical” of vaccines is a no-go. It’s ignorance masquerading as skepticism.

Yeah the guy literally made up the data twice for that study. Like he didn’t do a study he just made it up. Twice. They took away his degree after that. Anyways getting vaccinated provides herd immunity to most things you are vaccinated for. The pathogens (things that make you sick) don’t have enough viable hosts to move through a population and infect the vulnerable people if enough people ate vaccinated. Vaccination is why we no longer have small pox.

Also I’m not anti vacs just like to know how they’re made and what similar strands they have to each other. For example I was put in the hospital due to the flu shot so I’m wary but doesn’t mean I don’t take any other vaccines. Hope this helps

They didn’t fully test the effects of the new vaccines to learn of the risk. Lots of of people got sick or have health related issues from the vaccine. IT MAY HAVE SAVED MORE LIVES BUT it also caused a lot of harm.

The reason we took the shortcut in vaccines was because of how rapidly COVID was evolving but again it was a shortcut with not long enough testing.

It’s the autism fearmongering for me. Not only is there the complete lack of comprehension that it’s a genetic condition, but the people acting like it’s the end of the world to have an autistic kid.

Yes, truly sorry, that was the center of your post for very personal reasons. It says an unfortunate amount of our society’s attitude to neurodivergence that some people think measles or COVID is worth risking over autism.

No I totally get where you’re coming from too because it centers more with OOP’s issue with the movement. We went from nearly eradicating measles in this country to record case numbers because of people who think Facebook is a trustworthy source for medical advice.
