Tip: the less you share with your roommate, the easier you all will get along. Obviously there are exceptions to these rules, but the vast majority of your things in a common area don’t need to be shared

Yes! I give very vague answers to everything they ask. Obviously I’m friendly and cordial, but I don’t over share. I keep a certain distance with them
