How do you build up stamina to run for longer? Training for a 5k at the end of the month and I can only run for a mile.

Run-walks. Run for 3 mins, walk for 2

train for longer but with less effort. aim to keep ur heart rate @ 80% of ur max which may be in the 155-175 bpm range. if u don’t have a hr tracker, run at a 30% slower pace than what u can hit for a mile (so if u can do 8:30 for a mile for example, try running at a 10-10:30 minute pace)

make sure you’re running at a pace that you can still talk normally at. this will help you work on your breath control and run for longer
