Illegaly crossing the border is the same type of crime as jaywalking. Its a misdemeanor not a felony. ITS A FUCKING MISDEMEANOR. Your speeding ticket carries more weight than crossing the border. Fuck you all for killing people over a misdemeanor.

Please name another country that allows people into their country to stay for the rest of their lives that aren’t citizens.

There are countless cases of people running from organized crime that wants them dead, and we deport them back, and they get killed. And these are not always ‘bad people’ to be clear. They’re journalists, law enforcement, random people just living their lives. It’s like catching a mouse and handing it directly to your cat

Not completely true. No country has a fully open border. Though some countries in the same region like the schengen area do have open border between others in the area.

you do not need to go to court unless you already applied for asylum, got denied, and appealed. stop spreading lies and misinformation

so they are appealing their request for asylum, aka seeking asylum…

like the american court system is famously fallible. appeals exist for a reason. if there is a scheduled court date, that person likely has a stay of removal allowing them to be in the country temporarily

the govt is allowed to detain people they believe to be undocumented without them seeing a judge. called expedited removal. there’s one exception to this but literally almost none qualify

Jaywalking can be classified as a misdemeanor depending on the place it occurred, so yeah 9 is right. That’s the same legal level.
