I think it stems from a catholic belief that you are meant to have as many children as god intends and using any kind of contraceptive or family planning method is going directly against gods will or trying to prevent gods will. It’s kinda crazy

Never grew up around Catholics that talked about their beliefs so that makes sense I guess, I’m not even sure how my republican family thinks about IUDs and birth control in terms of abortion

My parents are Baptist and have used iuds, bc pills, condoms, all the things and my parents are like alt right nuts. So I do think it must be a catholic thing. Or at least a very strict religious thing.
