Civil Rights peaceful protests were for the media. “Holy shit they’re hosing people who are just standing there. I’m on the side of the CRA not the cops”

That…wasn’t my point? My point was that the peaceful element was not “Be polite and they will comply” but rather to show the cruelty of the police and gov so that the average American would side with the Civil Rights Movement

I can definitely see why they didn’t tell us about that or explain it tho🧍 It really does paint the civil rights movement very differently. Less as a “peace and love” type thing and more a strategic decision to let themselves get beat on.
