There are programs available for parents who suddenly can’t afford to feed their children. Too many people would take advantage and just not feed their children if the government doing it

But whether the parents use those programs is up in the air, they might not even have access to them depending where they are, or maybe they’re to afraid of hurting their pride to use them. And what about children being abused and having food withheld from them?

There’s literally no cons to this, you’re just a selfish prick against feeding kids. The tax dollars needed to feed one child breakfast and lunch is less than it costs to house and feed a prisoner.
