So idk if you know this but colonialism and dispossession are not great preconditions for a gay rights movement. It’s obviously not a 1:1, but for another example you can look at the suffragette movement in the US during WWI. They were arrested, assaulted, and accused of being traitors for “taking attention away from the war effort”. In other words, it was a time of conflict, not even close to as bad as it is in Palestine, and there was massive backlash against a social movement because of that.
If I spent every day worried about if I’d be bombed for just existing or was at risk of having my house taken and my entire family imprisoned because some dude from random country decided to move there I wouldn’t exactly have the time for a gay revolution. Also look at LGBTQIA+ rights here where we’ve never been at contestant threat of life, it’s only been the past few years where it’s been relatively good and even that is being threatened by the institution
I don’t know which “international law” you’re referring to but with all the recorded genocides in history, the ethnic group targeted faced substantial population setbacks that could not be overcome as time went on. You could classify any act of war as “genocide” with whatever crackpot definition you’re using. You could just as easily claim Oct 7th means Hamas are committing genocide.
