The problem is we need a way to sort out people based on 2 ways: skill based and refugee/fleeing violence based. We literally cannot just accept whoever anymore because 1. It’s much easier to immigrate now and 2. the U.S. is much more settled than it was

No we cannot. Look at what happened in Canada and even then it wasn’t anywhere close to “accepting whoever”

I’ll shoot back with how many vacant houses exist in this country due to the wealthy buying up properties to rent. Wealth disparities are destroying the housing market.
