How dare Donald Trump make renovations to the White House with…. *Checks notes* his own money!
I appreciate how great gatsby coded this entire ballroom is. Privately funded by billionaire money. It’s literally a pay to play government being done in the open

It’s the most nothingburger sensationalist bullshit you could be angry about. There are like 50 other things you could be more upset about than a wing of the white house being redone. It’s so petty, spiteful, and stupid to hone in on this as the object of your hate.

Nah it’s petty to tear down the east wing

Again, it’s being funded by multi billion dollar companies and individuals. It’s quid pro quo done in the open

Dude, Obama spent 120m more than Trump, and nobody gave a fuck.

Was Obama using it with private funds directly to him from multibillion dollar companies? Yes or no

not his personal money, but it’s not tax payer money. he had donations but YOU as a tax payer isn’t paying for it

what’s the problem? it’s their money they can do what they want with it. as long as it isn’t tax payer dollars then it doesn’t effect you. and you’ll say “billionaires should be taxed and they should feed the poor” how about you take YOUR money and go feed the poor

Well it is concerning that he’s only going to be there 3 more years and he’s renovating the entire east wing to something that only he’s ever advocated for as president.

Obama’s renovation was approved by congress in 2008 (bush admin) and included heating, plumbing , internet wires, post 9/11 security… not dumbass vanity projects

1) Didn’t answer my question 2) it does affect everyone because it’s open corruption 3) billionaires should feed the poor just like me. Because as much as you want to act like I’m a hypocrite, I’m the one walking the walk and talking the talk

how is it open corruption? that makes no sense how it would be corrupt. we live in a capitalistic society, you get the life you make for yourself. i used to be poor, but i worked my ass off, moved up the chain, and now i own a house. i don’t think your a hypocrite, but if you stop feeling sorry for yourself, get off your ass, stop waiting on the government to take care of you, and get a job you can feed yourself

Because they benefit from networking in a space with the country’s most powerful people while you, have to work your ass off just to call a house yours.

it ain’t tax dollars, it’s THEIR money. and it’s not anyone else’s responsibility to feed anyone else except they’re family

Also don’t act like you fucking know me. I was borderline homeless and had to work to get where I am and yet I STILL feel that the poor deserve all the help they can get because I realize how difficult of a situation it is to be in. I was lucky because I had the right connections, the right circumstances, and the right environment to be able to get back up. Fuck off about me feeling sorry for myself

I didn’t say anything about tax dollars bright eyes. I said they get to network with the country’s most powerful people, in ways that 100% benefit them while people like YOU and me have to work for years just to own something that we can paint whenever we want.

Ah yes how convenient they posted them a day ago, months after he announced his plans. Surely the most truthful president in American history wouldn’t edit the list. He def wouldn’t take money from foreign governments too.

It actually is tax payer money, he’s using the money he’s getting from a lawsuit he’s carrying out against another party of the executive branch, which he controls
