Every time I see this take, especially by someone who thinks they’re being a woke girlboss slayqueen, I just gotta remind y’all that what you’re advocating is just lynching. You’re talking about lynching when you say some crimes are beyond trial. It’s also just become increasingly acceptable and extremely easy to dogpile people at the first accusation of SA or groping or whatever; and while that dog piling *is* often warranted, it sometimes just isn’t. Women do lie sometimes, this is not something that never happens. Applying that logic to a court of law is genuinely disastrous.
I think “Believe All Women” is a good axiom for one’s personal life, but not for a court system. Like, if a woman you know comes to you and is like “hey, this happened” your first response should never be doubt. Just accept and sympathize with what you’re being told. At the personal level. At the legal level though? You can’t just believe people.
I mean I think that would be up to individual judgment. I don’t hang out with habitual liars, so I doubt one would come confide in me, but yeah my rule of thumb probably would not apply to someone who’s a known liar, and I mean big lies too. Not little baby lies, if someone’s told a thousand little baby lies, and then they’re like “I got raped” I prolly will believe it because that’s too serious for someone who typically just tells little fibs, I would think.
