 i have been sobbing uncontrollably for hours listening to the final voicemails. reading the stories of heroes. watching firefighters do the climb on their local gyms stairmaster. its no secret that im not an america stan. today is the one exception.

understandably so. i think the last attack on our shores before then was pearl harbor right? and that wasn’t televised or recorded live. as someone whos not super pro america, i can acknowledge that we carry out acts of magnitude globally quite often. but the american public was not and is not used to such things so it hits harder than arial footage of missile strikes overseas. both are horrific. but it makes sense we place one over the other. its traumatic just to watch the videos.

*aerial. im old, still collecting degrees so on here to vent and be nosy lmao. i actually was born less than a year later. i saw it for the first time in 3rd grade. i will never forget the feeling. theres a lot of things i will poke fun about and make jokes on. 9/11 is not one of them. ever.

I thought about my classmate David today and when we all went outside in the courtyard to plant a tree for his mom who disappeared. I haven’t seen him in decades and he has no social media presence. So I think of him
