LBJ didn’t pressure them as much as JFK did. IIRC, JFK wanted certain conditions as well

I just don’t think the timeline makes sense. This was a time when Israel was newly fostering a good relationship with the US as an ally against Soviet-aligned Arab states during the Cold War, taking out our President would risk all of that, over something that could be negotiated
