I don’t think we should be helping either side but i definitely don’t think we should be helping both sides
Hamas killed people and committed war crimes. Nobody is denying that. What we’re saying is that Israel has done the exact same thing on a larger scale and that can’t be justified

So helping the worse side is ok?

The civilians need our support more than anything. They’re victims of both the IDF and Hamas.

The scale of their atrocities is only limited by logistics, if either side could do worse, they would so I don’t see a point debating who is worse, we shouldn’t be helping either of them

We shouldn’t be in the Middle East at all, we’ve done more harm there than anyone, we should just leave them alone

We should be helping the people, not the governments

I still feel like that’s the US projecting itself, by all means if other countries want to help but we have issues on our side of the world we should focus on

The least the US can do is prevent a famine and outbreak of disease caused by their own ally. That disease can spread and eventually reach the US, and then we’re screwed. There are polio and cholera outbreaks there

That was the point of the USAID efforts to fight diseases. Build goodwill and do good deeds, but also keep diseases like malaria and Ebola out of the US

We shouldn’t be allies with Israel

What I mean is that the damage is done. We do have an obligation to clean up a mess we helped create, and there is a benefit for ourselves in doing so

People have been trying to clean up this mess since before we were a nation, we don’t have the best track record to begin with, we aren’t gonna fix anything

Israel didn’t exist before the US was a nation. I’m confused

It did exist, just interspersed with European influences for millennia

I know, I’m saying the Middle East in general has been a mosaic of different ethnicities, religions, nations, and conflict that is just a revolving door or civilizations. It was arrogance to belive we could tame it so we should just leave it be
