As a church-attending Catholic born and raised I genuinely cannot understand where Jesus’ lessons of compassion were lost on you. He would be disgusted with the way your party treats God’s children. You’ve perverted my religion beyond recognition. You’re no better than the pharisees or the money changers in the temple

The very church that condemns these actions hides themselves from the world behind towering walls and armed guards. Why one set of rules for them and another for all others

as a former roman catholic who went to catechism every wednesday & friday, volunteered every saturday, and church every saturday, period. this is THE ENTIRE reason why i left the church. trump took hold of the religion & became their false prophet. i appreciate you spreading the word and holding your fellow catholics/christians accountable. people like you make me want to come back to church!!!!!

I never said they’re immune to criticism. There’s plenty of issues with the political aspects of organized religion. And frankly I don’t understand what that has to do with the conversation at hand. The fact of the matter is Jesus would not be cool with the dehumanization of people. The way people are rabid for and revelling in human suffering is disgusting

And I am asking you, directly, why should the people highest in your own religion be exempt from the rules they insist all other nations follow. How, Theologically speaking, can that be justified? How can you side with them on the matter when they do not follow their teachings themselves
