Yeah OP was saying that it's never worked like that as well. The other person was saying Israel is unique and can’t be compared to other times & groups in history since Israel actually wants peace & even has repeatedly tried to give the Palestinians their land back but the Palestinians didn’t want it.
There is no “kept going” because at no point did the conclusion of permanent diplomatic peace come about. Offers have been made, temporary pauses have occurred, but overall the conflict has not stopped since it started. We have no idea what would happen if the Palestinians accepted a deal because they never have. We also have no idea what would happen if they offered a deal within their means to offer because they also haven’t
Just like Palestinians are further radicalized as the war goes on, so too do the Israelis. Eventually neither side will hold the patience for a diplomatic resolution and then all that’s left is for it to be resolved militarily. And that’s a lot worse for the Palestinians as evident by most recent escalations
OP was saying Israel was doing a genocide & that the deals for statehood offered by Israel were bad & with no real intention of statehood anyways. The other people didn’t call it a genocide but acknowledging that the deals may have not been great for the Palestinians but they should have taken them for the same reasons you say. They said ultimately the Palestinians have no leverage & as time goes on they lose even more so no matter how bad or unfair a deal might seem the Palestinians should take
