I was with you till the last sentence lmfaoo
It saddens me that most conservatives resort to rage baiting on here. Like it makes us as a whole look fucking terrible. Like yeah I think trumps economic plan is better than Kamala’s longterm, that doesn’t mean I like the extent of executive overreach.

I elaborated a bit on the original post. But the main priority we need to go for is bringing back our manufacturing. The leading global economic power (Spain 1600s, brotain 1800s, us 1900s) always follows a pattern. I can elaborate the details of that if you’d like, it’s fascinating. Point is, we’re on the decline. China is set to be the new standard currency in 40 years. Mainly because of their industrial capacity. We need to get that back. Be self sufficient at the very least, to defend

Ourselves from that eventuality. Hopefully delay it. Ideally, we’d outpace it. There’s optics negatives to being the main superpower yes. But, our lives SIGNIFICANTLY benefit from that. Conservatives, and liberals especially. It’s what funds aid programs. What funds transit, what allows for niche speciality in careers (like lgptq+ promoting street artists)

The way he is handling this is abysmal. Trump’s economic plan is like maxing out your credit cards to throw the world's best party. At this rate, National debt skyrockets, interest rates climb, inflation risk rises, wages stagnate, middle class tax burden grows, infrastructure investment stalls, global trade relations sour, manufacturing costs rise(with nothing already in place to balance that out) market volatility increases, and trust in U.S. economic stability erodes for decades.

Everything he does are for short term gains that blow up in his face. He is NOTORIOUS for this since before he was president

I don’t see this as a short term play. Getting manufacturing back in the US takes decades and a lot of capital. That was part of his global tour to get investments in our manufacturing Plus, things are *really* looking like china is going to invade Taiwan in 2027. We need the framework for establishing our own self reliance on semiconductor manufacturing now, in case china does take out their capacity

Well that's wonderful but it's Joe Biden that signed the CHIPS act to get that ball rolling. On the other hand, trump is enacting tariffs, arguing with CEOs,and selling AI chips to China for quick cash. His erratic, short term moves spook investors, hurt U.S. suppliers, and trade long term security for short term gains he can brag about. All of shit trump is doing is completely antithetical to bringing back chip manufacturing to the USA.
